The World Ends With You (Me)!0

Recently, I have been playing the game The World Ends With You on the DS. Here's a synopsis since I am horrible with explaining.

From the creators of the award-winning Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts franchises comes a revolutionary, modern action-RPG title for a new generation of gamers. Square Enix and Jupiter team up once again to showcase The World Ends With You, a trendy and vibrant gaming experience developed exclusively for the Nintendo DS. Featuring an intuitive combat system and exciting multiplayer mode, The World Ends With You is set to immerse gamers into the modern-day culture of Japan.

Story
The story begins as Neku Sakuraba, an unsociable 15-year-old boy, unexpectedly wakes up in the Shibuya shopping district of Tokyo, Japan. While trying to piece together his rude awakening, he receives a strange text message warning him that he will cease to exist unless he accomplishes a certain mission. Although he barely has time to grasp what is happening to him, he commences his assigned task in the mysterious streets of Shibuya.

The game itself is so big, after you beat the storyline it unlocks more content and one of the optional quests would be to collect all your pins (which are the tools you use to fight your enemies) which reminds me of Pokemon. Each pin itself would activate a certain ability (or psych) for Neku to use to battle the noise (Neku's enemies). If I remember correctly, one of the first pins received was a pin that made flames according to where you touched with the stylus which leads me to my next point…

Battle system in The World Ends With You

The battle system is unique as well although frustrating at points (I'm talking to you Neku, move when I tell you). The player ends up controlling two characters at once, one on the top screen (controlled by control pad) and the other on the bottle screen (controlled by the stylus). If you'd been watching me play you'll see me slashing, tapping, pointing on the bottom screen while mashing the control pad in efforts to beat all the noise out there. I haven't been addicted to getting 100% content since pokemon, let's just hope they have some sort of award for obtaining it.

So how do I entertain myself now?0

I noticed this week was the last week any of my tv shows will air before going on break due to the strike. That's what gone? Prison Break, Dirty Sexy Money, Chuck, Heroes, The Unit, Desperate Housewives and The Office.

What am I suppose to go now? Go out? Socialize? Looking around on Google tells me that they don't think that negotiations will end by the end of this year. If it's anything like the last strike (22 weeks, 500 million dollars lost by industry), I need to start looking at the list of movies I haven't seen yet and run through them.

28 Weeks Later0

Oh man I hate this kid.

Doom 32

Are you ready for Doom the Movie? I know I am.

Movies movies movies!0

With nothing to do for the past weeks, I have been watching movies. Whether with friends in theaters or by myself, my eyes have been glued to some type of motion picture box or screen. I'll list the movies I saw with like a sentence of how I liked or disliked it. So far, all the movies I have watched I liked or loved.

Finding Neverland - What a sweet drama movie, actually made me teary. You know it's a good movie when it can change your emotions.

Crash - Man, this movie seriously moved me. It had so many racist issues of today and shed some on me. Arg, so good, it hit me so hard so many times.

Stewie Griffin - The Untold Story - If you love Family Guy, this is a movie about it. It's seriously funny as hell. I laughed harder watching this then I normally do when I watch the episode.

Deuce Bigalow - European Gigalo - Comedy movie, had my laughs. Wasn't as good as I wanted it to be but hey, I didn't expect much from it.

Wedding Crashers - Another comedy movie (get the trend?) that I watched in the theaters. This probably tops as one of the funniest movies I have seen. Everything was, in my opinion, delivered perfectly. Then again, this movie has a lot of sexual jokes and that's right down my alley :D

For some reason, i thought I watched more. Anyways, I movies to watch for this week are…Shawshank Redemption, Seven Samurai, Madagascar and maybe a few other ones.

Oh, besides movies, I've been reading 2 hours every night too. Just finished the Harry Potter series, the whole month of August I was reading 3-6 and I just finished 6 the other night when I stayed up til like 5AM finishing it (then again, I started at like 1AM). Good series, I will be awaiting the seventh and final book. I plan on reading the following books before school starts: Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (book3-5), America The Book by Jon Stewart, The Art of Intrusion and The Art of Deception by Kevin Mitnick and some other books I downloaded online (ebooks rock!).

  • Rocky 6, for those who don’t know, is in production. Here’s part of the script online (10) ¥

I love you Will Smith9

I went with some friends last night to watch Hitch: The Cure for the Common Man. What a funny movie! For some reason, I have always liked Will Smith's movie; maybe because I watched movies like ID4 when I was a kid and grown accustomed to his acting. But ya, when watching the movie, I noticed that everyone laughed from little kids to grown adults. And it was the first FULL theater film I EVER been to that didn't have some retard commenting to the movie or just being an asshole in general. I was in awe.

I am broke.1

Saturday night, the team leaders from my club all headed over to the Yard House in Long Beach to eat dinner. Our president wanted this to be a social where we got to know each other so our team would be more comfortable with each other but almost all of us knew each other so it was pointless. Only Robert didn't show since he was on call at work and got called in.

We had fun, took pictures and spent way too much money on food. After we headed over to The Pike and watched Sideways. Good movie, but not something you want to watch late at night. It's comedic at many parts of the movie but it's also mildly slow in my opinion.

House of Flying Daggers1

Has anyone seen House of Flying Daggers? It's a beautiful movie, like all the Chinese movies that were brought over from China. The scenery and colors that Yimou Zhang used in the movie was SOOO…beautiful. The fighting like all those other wu shu movies are ok, this one worse than others. Good wu shu fighting would be the scene with Donnie Yen and Jet Li in the movie Hero.

I also noticed in Crouching Tiger, Hero and this movie, Zhang Zi Yi is in all of them. Kind of weird but I dont mind. Shes an up and coming actress in China and shes damn sexy :)

Never forget, May 19th 20050

Star Wars III: Revenge of the Sith is coming to a theater near me May 19th 2005.
