My god, our bodies are amazing0

I was heading to class (the class I am in now, so much for paying attention), I read the paper and noticed that junior Laef Barnes broke the 4 minute mark for running a mile. Think about that for a second, if you ever ran around a lap, you'll know that doing it under one minute is pretty insane. That's every 15 seconds, he runs a quarter of the lap. I can't get over mymind how fast that is which is probably why only 307 Americans have broken that mark.

Spring Quarter ‘06 starts now3

Spring quarter starts today and my http://a.trendyname.org/clin/s06″>schedule looks fun fun fun! Speaking of fun, my spring break turned out pretty fun also. I went down to San Diego to visit friends and also visited Balboa Park, the Gas Lamp and Seaport Village. The last two were okay since the gas lamp is mainly cluttered with bars which I can't access (until this friday when I turn 21!) and Seaport Village was dead since it was a weekday. Whatever.

I also went to The Strokes concert the past friday and that was really fun. Although the opening band sucked really bad ("Let's hear it for DA LADIESSSS!") but The Strokes were awesometastic! Julian's voice could've been a little louder since the music drowned him out but all in all it was well worth it.

The rest of the week I just spent hanging out with friends and getting ready for school. I did try to shop for my new car but we are going to wait for the price to drop (few months) before we go try to purchase one again. That's probably the only shitty thing I had that week.

Four days 'til I turn 21 and wreck havoc in the bars!

Damn their mentality2

God, I hate the teachers at my school. Nothing pisses me off more than when a teacher says "oh, that's simple/easy/some word that denotes the simplicity of the object of the comment." I mean, it should be easy for them, they all have masters or doctorate degrees in what they teach. And it should be hard for us since it is new material we are learning.

I mean, my math teacher told me some proof he showed us should've been intuitive. That just made the class laughed since it looked like just letter and words with no meaning to it. Maybe if he explained his proofs more thoroughly, it would be more "intuitive" for us.

That's enough ranting, last weekend I went up to UCSB to visit my friend Roy and to party on Del Playa…

…taking pictures with random girls (giving girls excuse to dress as slutty as possible)…

…being in the presence of The King…

…drinking…

…with such a view of the crowd outside.

And that's just on Saturday too, it is suppose to be bigger on Halloween night.

Nothing Inparticular3

Just some things that I have thinking about:

Last weekend I finally finished my Calvin rasterbation that I have been meaning to do for the longest time ever. Excuse the shitty picture quality.

I kind of want to put this image to the right of it, maybe using 30×40 inches as the dimensions..

Also, I noticed on the corner of the major intersection of where I lived is a mental hospital, that's weird and cool at the same time. Also, the club I joined ACA is finally starting to pick up. I got put into a "family" where supposedly I will be with a smaller group of people since the club members number is in the hundreds.

First Impressions2

UCLA!!

With school starting last week and with such a moderate weekend, things are starting to look up. Here's a little something of what I think about each professor:

ECON 11 - The professor supposedly is easier than the other one as I found out today, which was good. I mean, she has three quizzes and if you take all three, she only takes the top score and uses it for the quiz grades. If you don't she takes the average, that's cool. For her teaching, she uses a mic that I guess isn't properly tuned/places since it makes a high pitched noise every once in a while. That doesn't bother me though. What bothers me is that it bothers her so much that she gets distracted from it and it distracts her from teaching.

GEOGRAPHY 131 - This professor I have had once since he wasn't there the first day of class (class cancelled, what a great way to start a quarter :D). I can tell he is very into his field since he talks about his research quite often while sticking to the subject plus he has a good sense of humor. Every once in a while he throws in a joke that is actually funny and makes the class laugh. And as far as I can tell, I am not giving a pity laugh.

MATH 33B - I hate this guy. He may have been paid to do research and publish papers but he cannot teach worth a damn. I have to look at my last semester notes so I can see what is going on. Good thing this class is semi review since half of my last math class was going over the subject of differential equations. Also, this guy teaches straight out of the book with no explanation. He just writes formulas and equations down without explaining it. I remember today he wrote down an example problem and just right after wrote the answer and sorta did something then said, ya, that's the answer. Whatever, I'll just be in the math lab with the math TAs.

My school schedule is kind of weird, click the link to check it out. Every M/W/F after class I will probably be going to the math lab to work on math. In between classes on T/TH I will either be going to the gym or studying. At least it's a way to meet people and catch up on work rather than coming home and sulking about such a shitty, boring life I have. Hopefully the clubs I plan on joining will be just as good and I can meet more people. I just want to meet peopleeeee and frat boys so I can go to their parties and know the low down on what is going on in the social atmosphere. :)

Changes for new school year7

School is about to start, with me being in UCLA this fall. I just recently moved into my apartment which is a two bedroom, 2 and a half bathroom townhouse, being shared by only one other roommate. I want my own privacy. :D

To give you a better view of how awesome I think the place is here's some pictures.

Picture of my room from the door

Picture of my room looking at the door. The door to the left is to my own bathroom.

My closet that I can actually step inside of and change. Sure beats my old closet which was essentially just a small room attached to my room with no closet door.

Do you have stairs in your house?

The kitchen and living room looking towards the stairs.

For my room, I want another one of those dish chairs that I have downstairs. Or I would take the one downstairs but I need something to replace it otherwise it looks too empty. It's so weird living on my own, everyone is so far away from me so I get bored everyday. I can't wait until school starts so I can make some new friends and girls.

Starting next Thursday, I will be taking Microeconomics Theory (econ), Differential Equations (math) and Environmental Change (geo) as an elective. Hopefully this quarter will be easy since I plan on taking 4 classes in the Winter quarter.

A little update5

Hey, I am sort of back from my hiatus. I will be leaving the country this Friday. First week will be touring Thailand and the whole month of July I will be in Taiwan. Don't worry, i will be updating my photo gallery and this blog as much as I can since I get internet access every once in a while.

As for my site updates, this site won't be modified in terms of looks and coding until I get back.

I haven’t posted for a while13

Man, you figured it would be kick ass. School is out, I got into a great school and I am getting a new car and laptop.

So WHY AM I SO BORED. I just sit home reading all day since no one wants to go out and usually when they do, it's at night. I am sick of not going to school since I usually stay at school the whole day talking with friends and going to class. I wish I was going back to school. So, in spite of my increasing boredom, I decided to do something about it. I started learning how to color in black and white photos and I do like my first results (seeing how it's such a beautiful photo also made it easier to look at :D).

Before

After

What do you think? I would like some honest opinions since I might be doing more so it's easier to correct my mistakes now then later. Also, I am getting back into taking care of my site. Currently, the gallery is down but there is a temporary placement here. Also, I will be working on a new layout — or rather, I have it all done, I am just cleaning it up and getting ready to splice it up and code. I think these few things will occupy my time until I get out of this house. That and reading the whole Harry Potter series. I started and finished the first one yesterday, I should be done with the series by the end of next week.

Ugh, it’s that time of year again3

Finals is around the corner, I have a biology lab final tomorrow which I am not to worried about. Today was also the last day of my biology honors class which I wasn't worried about. Next week I have the following due…

  1. Art final + museum report (I am so damn screwed!)
  2. Geography final, which requires like a D for me to keep my A (I love non honors classes)
  3. C++ final + final project. Yep, I am screwed.
  4. Math final. MATH FINAL. MATH F*CKING FINAL. *runs around screaming*.

Other than school, this Friday I am going to the end of the year luncheon for the club/program I am in. It'll be fun, the officers (that's me!) will all be doing this skit from Whose Line is it Anyways? and we also made the theme to be pink and black so all the officers need to be in that color. I am thinking about going dressier than usual since I know others will be and I need to look as good as them. I will probably be doing in a pink dress shirt (tucked in), nice black slacks and dress shoes. Damn, I'll look good. Norma will be using my camera to take pictures and I will post them once I get it back from her on Saturday.

That's like the only thing I look forward to because after that is preparation for the damn finals :(

I am in!15

I just found out I got accepted into UCLA.

Anyways, since this is the only school I got accepted to and that I really wanted to go to (first choice), I officially accepted and will be registered as a Bruin come this fall. Another thing I saw that was nice was that I am getting $21,000 worth of grants while the school is approx $22,000 a year. So it's almost a free ride for me. All I need to do is get some scholarships and I won't need to worry about the financial aid.
