On saturday, my friend invited me to go with him to play airsoft, which if you didn't click the link which describes it, it is a "A game where opposing teams use either electric, gas, or spring powered replicas of real guns, to propel a small diameter ball-bearing(BB) at the opposing team." And if you didn't understand that, it is just paintballing with more tactics are strategies and instead of paintballs, airsoft uses BBs.
So 2 of my friends and I went to play airsoft, for it was the first time I ever played it. We met up with some of my friend's teammates and then headed out to play. It was so freaking sweet when we got started. Since there aren't exactly any legal fields we just go out in the middle of some field and start playing.
The fields are usually recommended by people who scout them and play in that area ahead of time then recommend it to other friends. So we went to Riverside to a place called Woodcrest to play for that day.
When we got there there was another group of people that came by and asked if we wanted to skirmish. Since they were up for friendly games, they thought "why not?" We played 2 games and beat them pretty good both times. We played in this area where it was like a jungle. Lotta trees, muddy and a ravine running through it. It was really sweet, since you didn't want to get shot you would be all careful and crap. And when we spotted someone we would point it out and get in positions and start shooting. Even though this was fake, you had to run like a biatch to avoid getting shot with the BBs. After we played the 2 skirm games, they left so we played by ourselves. Near the area was a flipped over car, for some reason, and they usually play a Black Hawk Down scenario using the car. If you watched the movie before, it was the scene with the 2 snipers versus a bajillion people. So like we spilt up the group into two teams, a defense and offense team. The offense team had more people but didn't have much cover while the defense team got this car to hide behind. It was so cool when on offense because you got like so many people coming from multiple sides pinning them down. On the left was when I was on offense attacking the people behind the car covering fire so someone can run over to my position
. On defense was fun also. We each took a position to cover and I called right so when the game started, I just kneeled there looking at the right side of the car. Some guy tried to sprint to flank us, but I just went full auto and got his ass :D.
I am so getting into this game, since that was my first time, all my gear, weapons and everything was being borrowed. Within the few weeks I am off to buy some BDUs (the camo clothing), facemasks, gloves and a gun. I went to the gun store today and I am thinking whether to get a G36 (the gun I am holding in the standing pose) or a M16 (the gun my teammate is holding in that kneeling pose). I also remembered one of the guys brought a machete for some weird reason. The thing was he put it into the ground so the hilt was going up and the tip was in the dirt and some paintballing group in their car was driving over and noticed it. From what I heard the guy was talking and all of a sudden widen his eyes when he noticed the machete in the ground and pointed it out to a girl in the car. They got a little freaked out because we looked like we were serious hardcore since most of us were dressed in full gear and there were all these guns everywhere and it just looked like the machete was going to be used in the game as a weapon, LMAO. They asked where the paintballing group was today all nervously and we just pointed out over the hill and they skidaddled, but ya, that was humourous :).
